Privacy Policy

Plant Compass, a service of Fleurish Grounds LLC ("we", "us"), helps you place houseplants based on the sun. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We aim to collect as little as possible.

What we collect

• Account: your email address to create and sync your account.
• Your home & plants: the location and building outline you choose, the windows you set up, the plants you add, watering history, notes, and any progress photos you save.
• Photos you identify: images you submit are sent to our identification provider to return a result; we don't keep them on our servers.
• Basic technical data: standard request information needed to operate the service.
• Analytics: how you use the app (for example, identifying or adding a plant), with a random app and user identifier, via Mixpanel. We use this only to improve the app, never for advertising, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites. This may include anonymized session replays (recordings of taps, navigation, and scrolling) via Mixpanel Session Replay, with all on-screen text and form inputs masked so information you type is not captured.

How your data is stored

Your home and plant data sync to your private account in our database (Supabase), protected by row-level security so only you can read or write it. Your address and the sun calculations are computed on your device.

Service providers

We use a small number of trusted providers to make features work:

• Supabase: accounts and data storage.
• OpenStreetMap (Nominatim/Overpass) & Esri, and optionally Google Maps/Places: address search and building outlines/imagery.
• Pl@ntNet: plant identification from photos.
• Apple: subscription purchases and management via the App Store.
• Mixpanel: privacy-friendly product analytics, including masked session replays.

These providers process only what's needed for their feature, under their own privacy terms.

Location

If you use "current location," your device's coordinates are used to center the map and compute the sun's path. We don't track your location in the background.

Notifications

If you turn on watering reminders, they're scheduled and shown locally on your device. The reminder schedule is computed on your device from your plants and their watering intervals. No notification data is sent to us or any third party. You can turn reminders off anytime in the app or in your device settings.

How we use it

Only to provide the app: sync your setup across devices, compute light, identify plants, send the support messages you submit, and manage subscriptions. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Your choices

• Edit or remove your plants, windows, and home at any time in the app.
• Delete your account from Profile → Delete account. This permanently removes your account and synced data.
• Contact us to request a copy or deletion of your data.

Children

Plant Compass isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We'll update this page if our practices change, and revise the date above.
